My trip to Magnolia Market at The Silos

I am finally home from our road trip to Austin, Texas! We are originally from Austin, so we go back occasionally to see family and friends. During this trip back "home" I finally made the trek to Waco to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos. Yes, it was amazing. No, I didn't meet Chip and Joanna. I went with my sister and one of my besties, Beth. She used to blog at Free Stylin' so if you've been reading House of Hepworths for a long time, you might remember her. Here's my sister Lindsey and me: And here's Beth and me: You can see the silos for several blocks as you pull … [Read more...]

Custom Labels for your Baking Storage Containers

My daughter LOVES to bake. I wouldn't be surprised if someday she opens up her own bakery. She bakes yummy treats almost daily (which makes being low-carb even harder!). She is an amazing baker! Did I mention that she's only 13? Because of all her daily baking, I wanted a functional AND pretty way to store all the baking goods. I found these awesome Rubbermaid containers on amazon and created some pretty labels using my Silhouette. Once I get more organized I plan on making these and selling them for those of you who don't have a vinyl cutter, but for now I'm just sharing the tutorial. … [Read more...]

Pull-outs & lazy susans || Custom organization in our IKEA kitchen

Hey guys and gals! We are neck deep in building our own custom IKEA kitchen! If you want to read all about our on-going IKEA series, start here. Today I'm going to talk about one of the ways we are taking our box IKEA kitchen and making changes to it so it's more custom and fits our specific needs. Instead of the basic insert options that IKEA offers, we decided to take it up a notch and install higher quality, more heavy duty inserts to accommodate our hard-working family. Here are two of the IKEA options that we scrapped for more industrial strength and aesthetically-pleasing … [Read more...]

We love our Beddy’s bedding

Over the past few weeks I've shown you guys my son's and daughter's bedrooms. They both are sporting some new super cute bedding. I promised to give you more details about the bedding, so today I'm doing just that! Both of these bedding sets are called Beddy's Before I get too deep into this post, I want to be very clear... I paid for both of these bedding sets. I purchased them through the website like any other person would, and I paid full price for them. I was introduced to Beddy's from a few other blogs who wrote posts about them. As soon as I first saw them, I … [Read more...]

BHG Dining Room Table Review (it’s not great)

Okay, so let's talk about this table. I'm not going to beat around the bush here, the table is from Wal-Mart. Yes, Wal-Mart. I know, I can't believe it either. It does have one redeeming quality though - it's a Better Homes and Gardens brand, called Providence, which makes it a tiny bit more legit I suppose. I originally bought this table for the kitchen but it was too big (should have measured!) so it became the dining table by default. We needed furniture for the entire house and had only a couple days to buy it all. We headed to IKEA for almost everything, but I didn't want … [Read more...]

Get rid of that ugly cord hanging from your attic stairs

(I was one of the bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program as well as writing about my experience. I have also been compensated for the materials needed for my DIY project. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.) I'm back today to share an easy update to an annoying problem. Do you have attic stairs that have a standard pull cord dangling down? They are just not attractive! Here's a great and easy tutorial to update those attic stairs and get rid of the … [Read more...]
