Mini Ornament Wreath {holiday}

As promised, I'm back with a 2nd wreath. This is pretty much the same as the last wreath, but in mini form. Because honestly, what's cuter than a mini wreath? My daughter wanted to make a wreath, and how can I say no to a) this adorable face, and b) a daughter who wants to craft with me?! So we made a mini wreath. We started with a bunch of mini ornaments from Target, a wreath form, and some fabric. We wrapped the form in fabric first. Now we have a good surface for the hot glue to stick to. Next, she wrapped the wreath in some silver tinsel. And from … [Read more...]

That's what.       Aren't they the CUTEST ever?! Gah, I love them! So, here's how to make some of your very own. They are easy … [Read more...]

How to make a Magnetic Frame to display artwork

(I was one of the bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program as well as writing about my experience. I have also been compensated for the materials needed for my DIY project. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.) My daughter LOVES to draw and is very crafty. We have artwork all over our fridge and taped to the walls. I made her a magnetic frame for her to display all her artwork, photos, notes, and cards. It looks a lot classier on a magnetic frame instead … [Read more...]

Build a tire swing!

(I was one of the bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. Carnival-themed baby shower, a photo booth, & a cupcake stand tutorial

Back in October my sister's best friend and I hosted a Carnival-themed baby shower for my pregnant sister. It turned out so fun and creative. The shower was hosted at my house but credit for the majority of the planning and decorating goes to my sister's best friend, Stephanie. I like to keep things simple (I'm cheap and lazy) but Stephanie totally knocked this out of out the park. The only downside to hosting the party outside at 4pm was that the lighting was terrible with shadows all over the place. It wasn't noticeable in person, but the photos really enhance all the shadows. The … [Read more...]

Sorting all those LEGO instruction booklets

Are you a Lego mama? I am. My son has tons of Legos. Like, bucket-loads. I've spent time setting up a pretty sweet containment system for all the chaos, but those instruction booklets? Aye yai yai. I swear, my friends, Legos will be the death of me! So, for like 8 years I have saved the Lego instruction books from the grips of a little boy who would otherwise completely destroy them. He is finally old enough that I have relinquished my iron grip on these very expensive little books and allowed him to keep them. The booklets have been stored in a plastic container with a lid. They have … [Read more...]
