Personalizing a tumbler with custom vinyl

Hey fam! I'm super excited. I'm headed to the Haven Conference this weekend. I haven't been to any conferences in several years so I'm really excited about this one! Are you going to Haven? I basically low-key took a blogging break for a long time due to some stuff in my personal life but finally that is all sorted out and I've been able to put my heart back into my blog again. I don't want to get into the personal reasons for taking time off, but please know that I have missed you guys so much and am truly grateful to be back here again. I don't foresee me disappearing from the blog world … [Read more...]

Custom Labels for your Baking Storage Containers

My daughter LOVES to bake. I wouldn't be surprised if someday she opens up her own bakery. She bakes yummy treats almost daily (which makes being low-carb even harder!). She is an amazing baker! Did I mention that she's only 13? Because of all her daily baking, I wanted a functional AND pretty way to store all the baking goods. I found these awesome Rubbermaid containers on amazon and created some pretty labels using my Silhouette. Once I get more organized I plan on making these and selling them for those of you who don't have a vinyl cutter, but for now I'm just sharing the tutorial. … [Read more...]

Favorite band decals using a vinyl cutter (Silhouette)

I busted out the Silhouette machine! Every time I get it out I wish that I had done it sooner and made more projects. It's just so fun and makes such cool stuff! My heading-into-10th-grade son wanted a few custom decals for his laptop and asked me if I could make them on the Silhouette. My reply, "Mission accepted!" So fun right?! He obviously loves Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, and a computer game called Half-Life. He wanted stickers for each. I googled images for each of the bands and imported them into the Silhouette software. First up, Weezer: I hate wasting vinyl, so if I'm … [Read more...]

How to FROST GLASS with contact paper

Today I'm sharing a simple tutorial that will change your life. Seriously. It's that good. Would you like more privacy in your home without sacrificing the light streaming in? Just frost your glass! It's so easy, inexpensive, and is totally removable. Yup, unlike sprays and other frosted glass techniques, this one allows you to undo your frost if you ever change your mind. Mind blown, I know. I started out with a 10-panel glass door painted white. Last year I painted it black. I LOVE black doors! As much as I love this 10-panel glass door, especially now that it's black, we need … [Read more...]

How to hang heavy unlevel artwork easily

In 2011 I made a piece of art that, to this day, is still my favorite art in the house. You guys loved the art so much that I started making and selling them out of my garage. It was quite an undertaking! I made probably 40 of them but it was very time consuming so I shut down shop eventually. Ah, the good ol' days. Well, I'm not here to announce a shop re-opening or anything like that, but I am here to announce that I finally hung the original piece in my new house! Hallelujah for getting art on my walls almost a year after moving in. I hemmed and hawed for months … [Read more...]

Easy DIY matching M&M costumes

For Halloween this year my daughter and her friend want to be "matching cute M&M girls". They had it all worked out in their minds, all I had to do was take them to the costume store to buy some accessories and then make M&M shirts using my Silhouette Cameo. I think they turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me! If you'd like to recreate this costume, here are the accessories: Hair bow, fish net gloves, tulle tutu, t-shirt. They paired the entire outfit with some black leggings. To make the shirts I dusted off my Silhouette Cameo, found the M&M logo on google, … [Read more...]
