How I lost 35 lbs eating keto / low carb (and how you can too!)

The past year I've been eating a low carb diet. I loosely follow a specific diet called the Ketogenic Diet, or Keto diet. I've managed to lose around 35 pounds so far! I went from my high weight of 194 lbs and a size 14 to about 160 lbs and a size 6/8. I've been in maintenance mode for about 5 months now. I fluctuate between 157 and 164. I've posted about this a few times on Instagram and I get so much engagement from those posts with you guys begging me to give you more details.    via/via I will try to give you a good overview of my diet and how it has worked for … [Read more...]

Life-sized STAR WARS balloons! Coolest balloons ever!

Happy Birthday, Ben! Ben celebrated the big 4-0 on May 4th! Yup, Star Wars day. May the forth be with you. hehe When I went to party city to purchase some fun decorations for a party for him, I stumbled upon the BEST decorations ever - JUMBO STAR WARS BALLOONS. I seriously squealed out loud. I mean, I've literally never seen jumbo balloons like this before. Maybe I live in under a rock, but seeing these balloons made me so excited. They are huge! I couldn't decide between the Stormtrooper or R2D2 so I splurged and bought both. They were a huge hit! We had these balloons hanging … [Read more...]

How to remove stickers the easy way

You guys. This is such a simple tip, but not many people know about it. But before I get down to business and share this super simple tip with you, I have to give a shout out to Wal-mart of all places for stocking the CUTEST galvanized containers. Seriously, they have tons of different bins, trays, containers, etc and they are all the oh-so-hot galvanized metal. Rumor has it (I haven't verified with my own eyeballs) that this stuff is now on CLEARANCE. I better get up there and buy some more before they're all gone. You can use these containers in virtually every room in your house for … [Read more...]

Party decorating on a small budget || dollar store ideas

Our family recently flew from Denver to Dallas to see our nephew graduate from High School. He was born a month after Ben and I got married. I'm still trying to figure out how he's old enough to graduate?! There was a huge party planned for our nephew and a bunch of his graduating friends to help celebrate the occasion. The party was so cute. Each graduating senior had a table set up just for them, to show them off and share all their accomplishments and hobbies. (There were 11 tables total I believe; and was held in a local church.) My sister-in-law tasked me with decorating the table for … [Read more...]

RAINBOW tutus and knee highs @ Bolder Boulder 10k

Every year on Memorial Day, the city of Boulder, Colorado hosts a huge 10k called the Bolder Boulder. It is the biggest race of the year, and one of the biggest 10k's in the country! The race is more like a huge party with local live bands playing every half-mile. There are also tons of activities set up throughout the race including trampolines, swimming pools, slip-n-slides, cotton candy makers, free beer (for adults!), free chip stations, free bacon stations, tons of water stations, free sunscreen stations, etc. It's more like a walking/running 10k party and less of an actual … [Read more...]

creating PRIMAL FURS for Indoor Percussion

Last week I introduced y'all to Indoor Drumlines, or Indoor Percussion Ensembles. My son is in high school and had the cool opportunity to be a part of his high school's Indoor Drumline. They preformed a cool show called Primal, which included awesome costumes created on the cheap by the parents of the group. Here's the final costume: In this post I showed you guys how I created the loin cloth (skirt) and belt for the costume. Today I'm here to wrap up this Indoor Drumline PRIMAL series with a play-by-play on all the furs the kids wore. The pit kids (the ones in the front who … [Read more...]

Creating the LOIN CLOTH SKIRTS & BELTS for Indoor Drumline show

Last week I introduced you to my son's Indoor Drumline group, where they put on a show this year called Primal. The teens put in countless hours of hard work into pulling off a 1st in State show and we parents coudln't be any prouder of them. The show would definitely not come together without the help of all the parent volunteers as well. My "job" this season was "Costume Coordinator". I made sure each entire costume arrived at each show during the season and made sure each kid had what they needed before they preformed. I also was heavily involved in creating the costumes, especially certain … [Read more...]
