PBTeen inspired bed sheets DIY & tutorial {Bedding Week}

Welcome to my self-imposed "Bedding Week" here at House of Hepworths! Yesterday I shared that I've been busy at the sewing machine creating an entire set of Pottery Barn Teen inspired bedding for my daughter. The feedback has been above and beyond what I could have hoped for! Thank you so much for not only liking my new bedding, but also leaving such nice comments, sharing it with your friends on facebook, and pinning it! You guys are pinning fools I tell ya! Today I'm going to show you how to create these fun bed sheets for only $15 (give or take a little). PBTeen … [Read more...]

I knocked-off some PBTeen bedding and saved $355! {daughters new bedding}

Well hey hey hey my friends! I hope you had a smashing weekend! I'm back today to show you the bedding progress I've made on my darling daughter K's room. I'm getting so excited about her entire room makeover because I'm finally to the point that I can see the finish line. If you are new here you can see all the posts about her room here. Last week I showed you the new bed we got for K: I LOVE this bed! Seriously. I'm smitten. Now it's time to get some pretty bedding to go along with the pretty new bed. I searched for bedding for a few months. I wanted to find … [Read more...]

Like, OMG. The piano room actually has curtains now?!

Four long months ago I proclaimed I was going to hang curtains in the piano room. Sounded simple enough. Hell, I already had the curtains. How long could hanging two curtain panels really take? I tried them out by hanging them on the wall with some tacks... They were waiting for Noah's Flood, so I tested out some gray fabric I picked up at ikea. Yup, this little plan I hatched was going to work out perfectly. I even added this little curtain project to my list of 24 projects I should have finished by now (project #6) {aka I'm a huge procrastinator}. So why is it … [Read more...]

How to make professional lined curtain panels

This is my 3rd and final post about my awesome Aviary curtains. You can also go back and read about the curtains and learn how to make your own custom curtain rod. Have you wanted to sew your own curtains, but you have no clue where to start? Does making your own curtains intimidate you? Does the thought of sewing your own lined curtains freak you out? Before a few weeks ago I answered YES to all three questions. However, now I can say that I've made my own lined curtains, and I survived! And now I'm going to show you how to make your own too. I've got loads of photos … [Read more...]

How to make a cheap, awesome, professional Curtain Rod

First off, thank you so much for being so kind about my new curtains in the dining room! I am taken aback daily by how many genuinely nice people there are in this blogging community. Thank you for loving the curtains along with me, and also thank you for just being plain ol' nice. Now, shall we get down to bid-ness? Let's talk Curtain Rods. More specifically, let's talk about my dining room curtain rod that I DIY'd. I should dedicate an entire post just to curtain rods and best above ground pool, because after this experience, I think I know every single option of … [Read more...]

The method to my madness (piano room curtains, part 1)

This week I've randomly decided to start obsessing about my piano room again. There's really no rhyme or reason to what goes on inside my head. I'm having a hard time finishing any one room because I get so bored so quickly. I like to randomly hop from one project to another; most of the time before the first project is even completed. So anyway, this week is Project-Piano-Room. Here's where we last left off... ...carpet lines and all. :) I swear, these carpet vacuum lines have been heard 'round the world. Who woulda thunk a few lines would cause such a commotion?! (Several … [Read more...]

Hibiscus pillow from a bedsheet

A few months back I scored several decorative pillows from my neighbor's garage sale, all for $1 each. A dollar for a pillow is cheaper than buying a bag of pillow stuffing! If you need a pillow, like, right this very second, or you just aren't lucky enough to find a garage sale 3 doors down with dollar pillows, Goodwill always has a plethora of crappy pillows to choose from. Then I found this purdy teal flat sheet at Walmart for only five bucks. Yes, I went to Walmart. {sigh} I try to avoid it at all costs (you guys know how much I love Target!}, but sometimes I head over … [Read more...]
