Is there rehab or a 12-step program for this? {Rodney White}

Last April I posted about my Rodney White obsession and the new artwork I scored on Craigslist. This art totaled my 4th piece of Rodney White artwork. And I quote from that post, "I swear this is the last Rodney White print I will buy. " Then I got a little cheeky when I said, "I really want to get this one too, but I fear that FIVE prints would be well above and beyond obsessive-compulsive. " Well, I'm eating my words, big time. I am officially "well above and beyond obsessive-compulsive". Look at the newest artwork I scored last week at Ross... Isn't is … [Read more...]

Start Being Awesome typography art

Hey you! Ya, you.. I order you to I made something. Something really really awesome. Wanna see? I found a piece of typographic statement art on pinterest* that was so amazing I even used it when I talked about mean comments last month. I'm really bummed though because the original source has been deleted and I can't find who to credit anywhere. If you know who made this, please let me know so I can give them credit! I LOVE love love this saying so much ("awesome" is kinda *my* word, ya know) that I just had to recreate it. I put my own spin on it though by changing … [Read more...]

The Rodney White obsession continues, making it’s way to my family room.

I bought another Rodney White print on Craigslist. I'm addicted. I can't quit. I swear this is the last Rodney White print I will buy. The desk in our family room use to look like this: This picture is from this post. I've been trying to simplify the mess. It's now looking a lot better. I first shared my complete and total obsession with Rodney White in July. At that time I was 0 for 4. Yes, I said 4. I'm telling you it's an illness. Here are the other prints I have by him: This one, "Life Needs More Green Lights" was originally over my fireplace, … [Read more...]

Evolution of the mantle

My fireplace mantle has gone through several transformations since we moved in. First we had this... ...which isn't even decorated at.all. I set the Rodney White artwork on the mantle while we were moving in so it didn't get ruined and it just kinda ended up staying there. I hung the artwork and added a few accessories, but the overall look just wasn't working. This setup is a FAIL! I LOVE my art and I LOVE bright bold color, but after a month or so it just started to hurt my eyes. I need my family room to be more subtle and relaxing so I took down the art and … [Read more...]

Breakfast is served

My kitchen is coming along quite nicely! Here's the kitchen when we moved in: So much potential! Unfortch I haven't painted yet (dagnabbit!) but in other good news, I have added some furniture, appliances, and accessories! We bought a fridge that I'm totally loving. It's an LG french door freezer on bottom and I'm in lurve. But what I'm REALLY in love with is my new painting by Rodney White! I can't believe that it actually doesn't clash with the horrible paint color on the wall. I'm begining to think that Rodney White's artwork can make anything look good. Hmmm, maybe I … [Read more...]

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

Have I mentioned that I may be just a tad bit OCD? Yes, I'm making another Rodney White post. No, I will not guarantee that this will be my last Rodney White post. (It won't.) "Nothing To Dream" is my favorite of all his art. LOVE IT. I was on a mission to acquire this piece of art and nothing was going to stop me until I succeeded. Sure, I could have dropped $129 at World Market... But I just can't justify that kind of moola for artwork when I've got other things that our family actually needs. I tried to convince my husband that a Rodney White print was a … [Read more...]

Rodney White

"We tend to Seek Happiness when Happiness is actually a Choice" Rodney White is the mastermind behind all these amazing paintings. "It'll cost Nothing to Dream, but Everything Not to" Not only are the paintings beautiful, they are also full of inspirational phrases that make me smile. "Sometimes the Heart should Do Things without the Brain's Permission" Rodney White is currently my favorite artist. I cannot stop thinking about these paintings. "The Future is just a collection of Successive Nows" I have got to have one (or two... or three... or all of … [Read more...]
