Last minute Halloween decorating

Follow House of Hepworths on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest! Halloween is right around the corner! Seriously. It's in like 10 days. If you haven't decorated yet, here are a few ideas from my neighbors and myself that make decorating a breeze. We just moved here so I literally just threw out a few decorations and it took me like 3 seconds. Okay first up, we are a Star Wars family, so when I saw these two Star Wars Inflatables at Wal-Mart, I just had to get them. The $30 price tag seemed a lot cheaper than most inflatables so it was a no-brainer. We are officially the nerd family of … [Read more...]

Chocolate Bar Toffee. Delicious easy to make treat for the Holiday season.

I served this Chocolate Bar Toffee to all the shoppers at the Kirkland's Grand Opening Event last week. It was a huge hit and I want to share the recipe with you guys now. (Don't forget to go enter the giveaway for a $100 gift card to Kirkland's!) This Toffee is so stinkin' easy to make. I don't generally enjoy cooking and baking, but I do enjoy delicious food, so when I do bake, it better be an easy recipe that is extra yummy. I have no patience for mediocre recipes. To make this Toffee, you only need 6 ingredients. It is that easy. The only tricky part about the entire recipe is you have … [Read more...]

Make cheap Dollar Store Halloween Decor

There's still a good two weeks before Halloween, so if you haven't decorated yet, YOU STILL HAVE TIME! It seems like I'm always strapped for cash (who isn't?!) and I really hate spending loads of money on holiday decor that you use for only 3-4 weeks. So I did what I do best; I headed to the dollar store (Dollar Tree) and loaded up. I spent about $10 and ended up with an entire yard and mantle full of Halloween decor. I purchased the products above plus some spider webbing and a bag of moss. If you want to decorate for Halloween on the cheap real quick, head over to the … [Read more...]

Fall wreath updated for Winter

Back in September I created a Martha knock-off wreath for Fall... I was going to take it down now that it's Winter, but I really like it and am not ready to hide it away until next Fall. I went to Hob-Lob and bought two beady picks for .50ยข each. I took both of them and just wrapped them together so the beads faced away from each other. I literally just wedged the beady stuff in between the ribbon and the wreath. (I changed the ribbon out as well). Now I've got a wreath that will last through the Winter as well. It was an easy cheap fix to make my wreath last … [Read more...]

H A Double-L O W Double-E N spells “Halloween”

I've temporarily taken down the Fall decor and busted out the Halloween stuff! I pulled out my box-o-scariness... ... if you can call it "scary" I'm more of a "cutesy" seasonal decorator. I had most of my decor already, but I did make a few spray paint adjustments... I painted the wreath black as well as the candle stick that I bought months ago. For the wreath I decided to go low-key. I just painted a wreath black and hung it with a 1 1/2" thick orange ribbon. I was planning on doing more detail on the wreath, but once it was painted I really … [Read more...]

Reader Submission – Fall $ store wreath

Last week I showed you how to make a Fall Wreath using dollar store items. Ring a bell? Karin, an HoH reader, had this to say! "Thank you so much for the great idea! I read this post last night at 7p and asked my husband to take me to the DT! So at 9p I was gluing leaves to the wreath and it came out great! We're going back later today to buy more supplies to give these as fall hostess gifts. Thank you again for sharing, my home will look great for fall!!" Awesome! Karin also sent me some photos of her wreath she made using my tutorial! Suh-weet! Awesome … [Read more...]
