Last minute Halloween decorating

Follow House of Hepworths on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest! Halloween is right around the corner! Seriously. It's in like 10 days. If you haven't decorated yet, here are a few ideas from my neighbors and myself that make decorating a breeze. We just moved here so I literally just threw out a few decorations and it took me like 3 seconds. Okay first up, we are a Star Wars family, so when I saw these two Star Wars Inflatables at Wal-Mart, I just had to get them. The $30 price tag seemed a lot cheaper than most inflatables so it was a no-brainer. We are officially the nerd family of … [Read more...]

Silver & Gold holiday candle tutorial

Hey guys! It's Allison here from House of Hepworths. Today I'm going to show you how to make a festive holiday candle. It looks really classy and was so easy to make. Anyone can make this, I promise! To make this silver & gold holiday candle arrangement you will first need to gather your supplies - 3 candles (here are some great flameless options too!), a glass vase or dish, basic river rocks (can be purchased at any local True Value), and gold and silver spray paint. Take your rocks outside and spread them out in two separate piles on a scrap piece of cardboard. Once they are … [Read more...]

5 simple steps to prep your yard for Fall

Summer was a blast but now Fall is swiftly approaching. Don't forget to prepare the outside of your home and yard for the coming months by following these 5 tips: 1. Clean out your gutters Heading into Fall is a great time to break out the ladder and clean out your rain gutters. They tend to fill with leaves quickly so you should be cleaning them out a few times a year. 2. Put away all toys and furniture cushions If your house is anything like mine you probably have tons of toys strewn about outside. As soon as the weather turns warmer we bring out the soccer goals, sports … [Read more...]

Make cheap Dollar Store Halloween Decor

There's still a good two weeks before Halloween, so if you haven't decorated yet, YOU STILL HAVE TIME! It seems like I'm always strapped for cash (who isn't?!) and I really hate spending loads of money on holiday decor that you use for only 3-4 weeks. So I did what I do best; I headed to the dollar store (Dollar Tree) and loaded up. I spent about $10 and ended up with an entire yard and mantle full of Halloween decor. I purchased the products above plus some spider webbing and a bag of moss. If you want to decorate for Halloween on the cheap real quick, head over to the … [Read more...]

Fall wreath updated for Winter

Back in September I created a Martha knock-off wreath for Fall... I was going to take it down now that it's Winter, but I really like it and am not ready to hide it away until next Fall. I went to Hob-Lob and bought two beady picks for .50ยข each. I took both of them and just wrapped them together so the beads faced away from each other. I literally just wedged the beady stuff in between the ribbon and the wreath. (I changed the ribbon out as well). Now I've got a wreath that will last through the Winter as well. It was an easy cheap fix to make my wreath last … [Read more...]
