Keepin’ myself busy

I’ve hit a few Goodwill Stores the past few weeks in search of some great decor to refurbish. I’m stuck in LA until the end of June and I can’t do much to this apartment, so at least I’ll keep myself busy now! Check out my awesome finds!:

DSCN8237

These are metal, so they are great, just ugly. I’m going to paint them and use them for a cool project!

DSCN8240

I’m pretty sure I’m going to use these separate. I’d love to paint the box white and copy this:

planter

Which can be found at Wonderfully Wordy. As for the stand, not sure yet…

DSCN8243

Can you believe i got these balls for $1 each?! And two of them are solid wood! I’ve already started a project with them and promise to post pics soon!

DSCN8245

I’m so excited about these apples!! They are mini and I have the best plan for them!! The vase is IKEA and I’m sure I’ll put it to good use!

DSCN8246

I’ve already shown you this globe here! I LOVE this globe and it was only a couple bucks!!

DSCN8247

This is the first of TWO wine buckets I found at two different stores. I love them! I’ll love them more once they are painted!!

DSCN8415

My favorite find EVEH!!! Can you believe I found this for $24?! And it’s SOLID. The dome is glass and everything else is heavy metal. It even has a logo on the glass from a store it use to belong to. This ain’t a cheap crappy one! I can’t wait to repaint it and fill it up! And I might even have to name her. Just because I love her so much. What a steal.

DSCN8420

I. AM. IN. HEAVEN. I saw this cheese dome and was giddier than a kid on my way to Disney! I’ve wanted one for so long. I’m going to paint it black and assuming it looks good I plan on attaching that candle stick to the bottom of it to give it a cake-dome type look. Remember those mini apples above? I’m hoping they fit inside b/c it’s going to be so stinkin’ cute.

DSCN8421

Great glass. Enough said.

DSCN8424

Such great tin pieces today! I can’t wait to be creative with this stuff.

DSCN8425

Isn’t this swirl bucket purdy? I can’t wait to paint it! Also, here’s the 2nd wine bucket I scored.

DSCN8426

This is tin and is actually a decent size, so I’m going to paint it and put some tall sticks and things in it.

DSCN8427

This little dish is Mikasa. I just love these little Mikasa pieces. I’m not going to paint it. I love the color. It is going to receive a very good bath though.

DSCN8428

Picture this frame black.

DSCN8429

I’ll probably put this by the phone for little post-it notes and nick-nacks after I give it a good coat of spray paint.

DSCN8430

This little jewely box is in perfect condition and is from Bombay Company. It is beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice.

DSCN8432

I’m going to leave it just the way it is. And it was only $7. I can’t believe how perfect it is.

After all my Goodwill shopping I decided I needed some supplies to fix up all these great finds, so I stopped at our local hardware store and loaded up!

DSCN8433

And then I hit Michael’s for a few surprise crafts.

DSCN8434

Keep checking back over the next several months to see the transformations of these awesome finds! I love Goodwill!!!

I’d tell you how much I actually spent ($130) but then I’d have to kill you my DH would kill me.

Kisses!

Wow! You found some great things! I found a cheese dome just like this one a few weeks ago, and I also found a silver tray. Took the lid off the cheese dome and placed it on the silver tray. Beautiful!

I’m also jealous of those apples!

You make this “mall snob” want to stop by the Goodwill. Great going! Those will look so cute after you give it your magic touch! One thought about the cheese dome base – If you plan on using it for real food, you may consider picking up a little glass plate from Walmart to keep under the dome so your food isn’t sitting on all the toxic crap in the paint. But just as decorative – paint that bad boy!

Heather, goodwill is awesome! I didn’t go at all while I was in Dallas b/c I couldn’t find one, but I did go to the CCA up the road from you and found some cool stuff sometimes. I’m not going to use the cheese plate for food, just accessories. It’s coming along nicely. I can’t wait to finish it and post pics tomorrow.

Girl, you will be busy indeed. Love all your finds and hope to see some of them. If you remember give me a heads up when you do the bloom project. Thanks for the tip on where the vinyl is. Since it is my motto, I’ll head over there right now and grab 1 or 2. Come see what happens to a craftroom when you collect all those projects and then don’t do them quite yet. lol
